Lexium 32 Servo Drive
It is a controller used for motion control applications where instant and precise movement from a servo motor is needed.

Backup & Restore of a config file.
I. Tools
Software:
- SE SoMove: it is used the same as with other drives to configure, adjust, debug, and maintain the drive.
Hardware:
? SE USB-to-RJ45 connection cable (TCSMCNAM3M002P)
? IGS Maintenance Laptop
II. Connection
1.- Plug the RJ45 end of the connection cable into the CN7 (Modbus) port on the servo drive.

2.- Plug the USB end of the connection cable into an available USB port on the laptop.


3.- From the Windows start menu, open the Control Panel and then open the Device Manager.

4.- Click on View and select Show hidden devices. Then expand Ports (COM & LPT) and verify the com port assigned to the USB adapter.

5.- Launch SoMove and click on Edit Connection/Scan.

6.- Select Modbus Serial, verify the comm port assigned by SoMove and if it differs from the one in Device Manager (step # 4), click on the Advance settings (gear icon).

7.- Click on the drop-down menu and select the COM port assigned in Device Manager, hit Apply and OK.

8.- Back in the Scan Result window click on Scan Network.

9.- When the Lexium 32 appears on the results, click on Connect.

10.- Wait for the progress bar on the Connecting window to complete. Once connected you should see the current servo drive’s config settings.

III. Backup & Restore

BACKUP
1.- Click on Communication > Load From Device (upload config from drive to laptop).

2.- Wait for the progress bar on the Load From Device window to complete.
3.- Save config file .psx to a known location.
File > Save As…

4.- Disconnect from drive.
Communication > Disconnect from Device

Now you can unplug the connection cable from both the servo drive and the laptop. Have site replace the suspected faulty servo drive and after powering up the new one, follow the connection steps in II. Then move on to the Restore section of this article.
RESTORE
1.- Open the config file .psx you want to restore on the drive.
File > Open > Browse through and click Open

2.- Click on Communication > Store to Device (download config from laptop to drive).

3.- Wait for the progress bar on the Store to Device window to complete.

Note: for demonstration purposes, the above screenshot is intended to show the Store to Device status bar instead of the Load from Device.
4.- Once completed, the restored config file will be displayed on SoMove. Disconnect from drive.
Communication > Disconnect from Device

Finally unplug the connection cable from both the new servo drive and the laptop and have site test the conveyor in normal operation mode.
