Info:
No transmit Error from Scanner.
Skill required to complete this article: Controls and level is No Skill Level Association.

1- There are few scenarios where No Transmit could happen. The most common is when the scanner is not triggered to scan the barcode, therefore nothing is sent to the controller. This is determined when the first photoeye after the scanner detects a box while no message is received from the scanner.  This could be due to scanner trigger eye not aligned properly (or not detecting certain box dimensions or shapes). This also could be due to delays in transmitting the message between the scanner and the controller. Another reason that could cause No Transmit is when the scanner eye is falsely triggered or cycling while the conveyor is empty. There could be other reasons for No Transmit, however, below I will be discussing the chances for faulty or misaligned photoeye.

For example here we are getting 'No Transmit' Error from SCN06115.

There is only one photoeye on the induct after the scanner and before the sorter entry, EE06115-7

To make sure that this is not caused by the photoeye falsely triggering on its own, compared the ticks with another induct photoeye before the scanner, EE06110.

Both photoeyes showed consistent count (The minor difference in count is due to the time it took me to reset stats). While monitoring, I noticed a considerable count of No Transmit on the live data. To conclude, EE06115-7 may not be a contributor to the high No Transmit. It would be helpful to compare the scanner trigger eye's count with EE06115-7. This can tell us if the scanner is skipping boxes. we do not have I/O setup for Scanner trigger Eye in MC4\BOSS\ICW. Site needs to verify this on Scanner software.

2-Another thing to check is the encoder. There is an encoder for each scanner that is separate from our encoders (I.e. END81045, etc.) that connects directly to the scanner and it is only used by the scanner. This scanner encoder is used by the scanner to check the timing to send the scan data to the PLC\BOSS\ICW\MC4.

Verify with the site that Scanner Encoder is in contact with scan bed.

3- Measure the Scanner bed speed using a hand tachometer.

4-Check Scan bed for belt Slippage and adjust the tension if needed.

5--Verify if the boxes that exhibit the 'No transmit' error have different dimensions than the other boxes.
