Question/Problem
VFD cannot start.
VFD FAULT --- Drive Not In Profibus Mode
Answer/Solution
i) Find the Network Schematics and Layout
ii) Locate the faulted VFD on any of those documents, search for Node number and VFD number
iii) Locate the network branch where your faulted VFD is
iv) Tell site to walk the conveyor lane where the branch with the faulted VFD is, searching for:
* Broken PROFIBUS wires,
* PROFIBUS connectors with termination switch in the ON position (All termination switches should be OFF except for the last node)
* Loose PROFIBUS connections
