How to Troubleshoot Ethio I/O Errors

-Boss HMI

 

Answer/Solution

Connect to BOSS RTC

Connect to Boss RTC which is showing Ethio Alarm

 

Verify Alarms

Look for the alarms and take a screenshot

 

Verify Ethio Net Status in BOSS HMI

Look for the card and devices which are showing fault

 

For example, on Ethio Card 4, device 4, 6 and 10 were indicating fault.

 

 

Verify Ethernet network Connection

Connect a laptop in to the same network in order to ping affected devices

 

Check Network drawings in dashboard for the IP address of affected devices

 

Set IP Address

Configure the laptop IP to the same subnet as the affected devices

 

 

 

Run Continuous Ping

Open Command Prompt and run

 

Ping -t

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monitor for Data packet loss or no response

Check Device Link Lights

-Check Device link\lights of affected device (if available)

 

-Confirm if lights are ON and active

 

 

 

 

 

Device Status

If devices do not respond and link lights are off, verify power, devices may be powered off, which can cause Ethio I/O errors.
