DG1 AC Drive Profibus Card Update Process
Introduction
Some Eaton DG1 AC drives may exhibit a “Compatibility Fault” on the Display when powered up with the Profibus Card (DXG-NET-PROFB) installed in the drive.
The problem is due to the version of firmware that is installed on the Profibus card.
A “Compatibility Fault” indicates that the drive firmware version is 34 but the Profibus card is the wrong version 34. (1.06 vs. 1.07). 1.06 is the correct version.
The faults signal that an update to the firmware on the Profibus card is required.
This guide will take you through the process of updating the Profibus card so it operates successfully with the DG1 AC drive.
To update the card, you will need the following:
- Communications cable (DXG-CBL-PCCABLE – Intelligrated 25606500)
- Eaton Power-xpert-incontrol-firmware-upgrade-tool-setup
- Firmware files for versions 34 and 35
Files “DG1-C0034.xml” and “DG1-V0034.xml” are files used to upgrade Profibus cards used in DG1 drives with Application Software 1.03.0003
Files “DG1-C0035-ETN.xml” and “DG1-V0035-ETN.xml” are files used to upgrade the Profibus cards used in DG1 drives with Application Software 2.00.0004
A kit is available that has the required cable, upgrade software tool and firmware version on a flash drive. The kit is available through Marc Thomas at Kaman Fluid Power (513-237-3371)

Procedure
First step to start this process is to install the program named “power-xpert-incontrol-firmware-upgrade-tool-setup.exe” on to the computer
Once installed and the application is opened, you need to select the path for the update files. Click on the “Browse button and select the correct configuration file.
