Question/Problem
No inducts to PandA station
Product stops before the print and apply station
Mechanical case-stop not allowing the tote to advance
Environment
PLC
IntelliQ Zone
Answer/Solution
i) Locate the photoeye that detects product in front of the stop (IntelliQ conveyors are divided into three-foot-long Zones, each zone has a photo-eye to detect product)
ii) Locate the solenoids that activates the brakes and the mechanical case-stops
iii) Tell site to flag the photoeyes. You should be able to see the value changing in the BOSS/ICW/PLC interface (This article is using PLC as an example). If you don't see the value changing in the photoeye, tell site to review connections or replace photoeye.
iv) Force and unforce the solenoids. Confirm with site if the case-stops are moving when forcing them. If case-stops are not moving when forcing, tell site to review electrical wiring connections and air pressure.
v) If you were able to see the photoeyes flagging and to force the solenoids you can discard input/output issues and power issues.
vi) Search for faults, jam alarms or full conditions on the downstream conveyors.
- If the downstream lanes are full, product will be held at the case-stop prior the print and apply area.
- If full lane conditions or jam conditions were found, locate the photoeyes and tell site to flag them. If they don't flag, verify wiring connections or replace them. After clearing a jam, site needs to press the reset button to clear the alarm
- Barcode scanner will scan the product and verify that a label has been appropriately applied (No reads from scanner could cause a Scanner Fault)
- If a scanner fault condition is found, clear the fault and tell site to release boxes to test the conveyor. If the scanner fault is raised again, review scanner connections and alignment. Review labels applied. Review barcodes info in the system BOSS/ICW/PLC
vii) Also verify site has the proper login permissions on the PandA PC. Because if not, the PandA station wont induct totes.
*** Example of scanner fault raised PLC Example ***
- Stop01 will not release because the "Panda_ExcessiveFaults" is activated.
- The Panda_ExcessiveFaults activates when the verification scanner doesn't read 7 or more barcodes
