Question/Problem

  • iCollector has increase in positioning faults. "TD Not positioned correctly in Channel XXYY"
  • What steps/checks can i do to address the increase in position faults

Environment

  • Lenze PLC
  • Transfer Device
  • iCollector
  • Samuel Adams/ Boston Beer

Answer/Solution

  • Below are 6 common causes and steps on how to address each

Transfer device was involved in a crash recently (complete steps in order)

  - Inspect scanner/camera for damage, replace if needed. (manual order to 1,1)
- use the bracket and hardware to reposition camera to make sure its pointed to the center of the position target on channel at 1,1 ( TD must be position correctly/flush with channel 1,1)
- Check the levelness of the beam, correct if needed, (Site has their own procedure for this)
  - if the beam is level proceed with an object scanner/camera calibration. Reference KB-12183
- After a successful object scanner calibration, complete a full rack reteach procedure (KB needs to be created)

Transfer Device not positioning its self correctly when giving a move command to 1,1

- check levelness of beam, adjust as needed (site has their own procedure for this) - Make sure object scanner is securely mounted to its bracket and there is not play
- manually jog TD to be flush with 1,1 to check if the camara position needs to be adjusted. Camera midpoint reference must be as close to the center of the position target in the channel.
  - If beam was level but object camera needed to be remounted/adjusted, please do a object camera calibration (insert KB link) - If beam was not level and had to be adjusted, do a object camera calibration first and then a reteachof the whole rack.

The beam is no longer level

   - adjust the beam as needed ( Site has their own procedure for this)   - after beam is leveled, check object scanner calibration at 1,1 - If object camera calibration is not need, proceed with a rack reteach procedure

-
-

-
-

Transfer device dropping or rising 3mm or more when doing it reset sequence at 1,1

- Check to make sure the object camera is secure in its bracket - Check to make sure camera is pointed towards the center of the channel position target     - Proceed with a object camera calibration
-
-

-
-

Object scanner/Camera is not detecting the correct position target

   - External environmental factors are causing the camera to detect correct position target. Usually its the camera LED light reflecting of the metal racking at the channel.

-
-

-
-

Object scanner/camera mounting hardware has come loose affecting its accuracy

  - check object camera mounting bracking and hardware to make sure its secured
- do a manual move to to one 1,1 to makw sure the camera is pointed to the center of the position mark on the channel as close as possible
